Apr 23, 2021
Hitachi Zosen Corporation has announced its support for the recommendations of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) established by the Financial Stability Board (FSB).
In recent years, climate change has become an urgent issue for the society, and it also has become crucial risk and opportunity for the corporate management. Our Company has formulated the long-term vision "Hitz 2030 Vision" for 2030, and aim to realize a sustainable society through our business such as clean energy, clean water, environmental preservation, and the building of prosperous communities strong against natural disasters.
By supporting the TCFD recommendations, our Company will further respond to climate change and expand the disclosure of climate change-related information.
Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures was established by the Financial Stability Board (FSB) at the request of G20 with Michael Bloomberg as its chairman, to examine how climate-related information should be disclosed, and how should financial institutions respond. TCFD published its final report in June 2017, and recommends companies to disclose items related to climate change-related risks and opportunities.
